I suffer from the Gout
I suffer from the Gout, aka the disease of kings. My toes and feet joints get sore and inflamed because my kidneys do a poor job of filtering out certain chemicals that come from delicious food and drinks like beer, seafood, coffee with cream and cheese. Look it up on WebMD or Wikipedia. It's a real bummer because I love a lot of the foods that give me the gout. I eat to avoid the gout most of the time, but around my birthday (which is in the spring around Easter and St. Patrick's Day) and Christmas I eat what I want, and then suffer the consequences.
Gout Cures that Seem to Work for Me
- Not being 66 pounds over weight - this has been an issue since the late 1990s.
- Stop drinking beer, milky coffee, fish, red meat, pork, Indian food. I don't eat much Indian food, but it seems to kick the gout in for me, so I avoid it.
- Plenty of water. When the gout kicks in I start drinking pint glasses with a shot of apple cider vinegar in it.
- Eat lots of vegetables. The fiber probably helps to clean out some solid toxins, and the extra water and nutrients probably help to balance out my PH, and restore healthy body functions.
- Bag full of cherries. I'll get a bag full of cherries, and eat it within a day. Not sure if it truly works, but it's fun to eat.
- Licorice candies. I'm sure a lot of people who suffer from the gout are also border-line diabetic too, so this might not be best for everyone. Seems to work for me, but I'm still researching. I'm going to try licorice sticks (the actual plant).
They say: when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Well, I can't make "gout-ade" (unless it's a pint of water with apple vinegar, which helps) so I make funny videos and cartoons of the gout to express my... frustration with the disease.
