In the woods behind the memorial, there are foundations of buildings from a former Civilian Conservation Camp (1933-1942). If you walk the trails and explore the woods, you&#8217;ll find foundations, slab floors, chimneys, and other chunks of old buildings. <\/p>\n<p>The Pine Barrens are prone to fires, in part, due to the flammability of pine sap.
